Senior Accountant

LHH is seeking Senior Accountant candidates for a great opportunity with a well-established company in the Farmingdale, NY area. This is a full-time, on-site position. Temp to Perm.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience. The salary range for this position is $ 85-95K depending on experience.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  
  
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  
  
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
  
  
• Prepare journal entries and ensure compliance with GAAP
  
  
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  
  
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
  
  
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
  
  
• Monitor and improve accounting processes and internal controls
  
  
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset activity
  
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support financial reporting and operational initiatives
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  
  
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  
  
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  
  
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  
  
• Experience with ERP/accounting software
  
  
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  
  
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar industry
  
  
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite
  
  
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting
  
  
• Experience improving accounting processes and implementing internal controls
