Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly adaptable Buyer to join our procurement team for a 6-month contract assignment. This role is responsible for purchasing specialized, complex materials, equipment, software, and services in strict accordance with corporate purchasing regulations and government procurement standards. Operating in a dynamic, high-volume environment, the Buyer will interface with suppliers and internal teams, negotiate terms, manage vendor contracts, and leverage ERP systems to support cutting-edge R&D and manufacturing operations.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional development coursework in procurement management is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience as a Buyer required.
• Preferred Systems Experience: Prior experience using Deltek Costpoint (ERP) and/or Solumina (Quality/MES System) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Procurement Execution: Negotiate, award, and administer procurement actions for both commercial and Government-funded requirements.
• Commodity Management: Manage purchases across diverse categories, including capital equipment, software license agreements, blanket purchase orders, professional/repair services, maintenance agreements, construction contracts, hazardous chemicals, electronics, and specialized hardware.
• Proposal Support: Assist cross-functional teams with proposal preparation and procurement data support as required.
• ERP Data Management: Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems daily to track orders, manage vendor records, and generate procurement reports.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with vendors and internal customers using patience, diplomacy, and tact to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to Teledyne and government specifications.
