This position is responsible for the coordination of loan closings and the preparation of closing packages, including the issuance of funds.Responsibilities and DutiesManage pipeline for loans that are cleared-to-close and ready for closing documents to be prepared; oversee Docs Out to confirm loans closed and when package will be returnedClosely examine all information pertaining to fees, rates, property information, vesting, etc. in loan file to ensure accuracy prior to drawing documentsVerify Fee Sheets and Doc Order requestsLook over all third-party invoices confirming they match those fees displayed on the final CD.Review FraudGaurd for any MERS updated information and third-party alerts. If new, third parties entered into the LOS, rerun FraudGuardCheck title report for correct endorsements and approved items, and to verify that Borrower and property are correctComplete all required worksheets and checklists including closing checklistConduct compliance review of CD and Compliance Ease, and validate that the loan passes all federal and state rulesVerify pricing is in compliance with Plaza's closing manualPrepare all closing documents and funding figures, and send to Settlement AgentNotify appropriate parties when documents are readyValidate estimated CD for all compliance requirements, if applicableRun a 'tape' to verify that the wire is correct and the loan balances. Double check all feeds for accuracyReview final funding conditions provided to determine requirements are met and either sign off or recondition, if not satisfactoryWhen all conditions are met and Settlement Agent is ready to fund, update conditions, check fees for accuracy and request wire in systemConfirm loans closed and funded with Settlement Agent. Ensure that proper fees are collected and that funding figures are calculated correctlyPost-closing and index closing packagesReview final CD for all compliance requirements. If fees change, rerun compliance testAssess file for completeness and accuracy to ensure compliance with government and company requirementsPerform related duties as directed by Manager and/or Assistant Vice PresidentHelp Assistant Vice President and Underwriting as requiredEnsure all loans close and fund in adherence to all Plaza's Policy & procedures, and are in compliance with all state and federal regulationsExamine other closers' loan documents and fund files as neededOther duties as assignedQualificationsUnderstanding of state and federal regulations for loan closingsDemonstrated skill in monitoring and overseeing loan production pipelineExperience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS) such as Calyx Point and Ellie MaeSkilled in Document Preparation Software, such as DocuTech or DocMagicProficiency with computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet BrowsersExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to efficiently and consistently produce accurate workSolid organizational and problem-solving skillsCapability of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with a heavy volume of transactionsProven aptitude to work in both a team and individual environmentSound judgment skills to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures essentialHigh school diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferredKnowledge of mortgage banking industry and closing loansWork Environment: This is a remote position, schedule 8am-5pm EST Mon-Fri.Compensation and Benefits: Estimated Rate of Pay: $24.04 - $28.85 This position is full-time; non-exempt. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position.
