Accounts Payable Analyst

This is a 12 month contract role (possibility of extension) with a leading financial institution. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite per week.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst to join on a temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with others, and finding smarter ways to work. As a member of our Finance team, you will help ensure the accurate and timely processing of company expenses while supporting initiatives that leverage automation, data analytics, and AI-powered tools to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounts payable responsibilities, including verifying and processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, securing department approvals, and ensuring timely payment processing.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Code and enter invoices into the accounting system accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and process payment batches for approval, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments.
- Verify payment amounts and ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Monitor invoice activity and prepare recurring reporting and analysis.
- Reconcile vendor statements with accounts payable records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain accounts payable records and assist with quarterly audit preparation.
- Organize and maintain vendor files and supporting documentation.
- Partner with the accounting team on month-end accruals, accounts payable reconciliations, and other accounting responsibilities as needed.
- Utilize AI-enabled and automation tools to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, identify exceptions, and enhance reporting processes.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements by leveraging technology, analytics, and emerging AI capabilities within finance operations.
What We're Looking for
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in a large financial institution
- Proficiency in Excel is required.
- Familiarity with AI tools, automation technologies, or data analytics platforms, with a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies. xhyhwjd

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
