Boeing Pre-Hire Opportunity Program (PHOP) – Aircraft Assembly Mechanic (LevelBorC) We are seeking current contract labor teammates to join as an Aircraft Assembly Mechanic in North Charleston, South Carolina, supporting the 787‑production system as an electrical, system, or seal/wing mechanic. This role is part of the PHOP and requires completion of the Foundational Training Flow. Primary Responsibilities Safety – Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines. Quality – Maintain rigorous quality standards and meet regulatory requirements. Teamwork – Engage with teammates and support teams, ask for help, and give help freely. English proficiency – All work conducted in English. Maintain certifications – Complete and maintain all required foundational training and any additional certifications. Use of computer and technical tools – Read electronic work instructions, drawings, and specifications; use diagnostic equipment and hand tools. Perform physical tasks – Inspect work, remove foreign object debris, work around energized sources, and perform manual tasks as described in the physical demands section. Physical Demands This position requires variable shifts (first, second, or third). The work may involve constant walking, standing for 6‑8 hours per day, climbing ladders or stairs, frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and carrying or lifting up to 45pounds. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, confined spaces, and fall protection may be required. All tasks must be performed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Requirements Servicing within a contract labor mechanic capacity (DAJX, DCTL, DEJ1, DCTJ). Successful completion of the PHOP program and Foundational Training Flow. Experience with electrical, mechanical, or seal/wing assembly on advanced jet aircraft. Proficient use of internet, email, Microsoft Office, and specialized aviation applications. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and read technical drawings. Strong knowledge of hand, power, and pneumatic tools. Drug‑free workplace compliance – subject to required testing. U.S. Person status for export control compliance. Valid security clearance not required for this position. Benefits & Pay Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Pay ranges for LevelB are $54,000–$64,000; for LevelC, $61,200–$64,500. Eligibility and specific benefits vary by location and other factors.
