Boeing Pre-Hire Opportunity Program (PHOP) – Aircraft Assembly Test Mechanic Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) seeks to offer current contract‑labor teammates an opportunity to join our 787 production teams in North Charleston, SC as an Aircraft Assembly Test Mechanic working a variable shift. Application Requirements Applicants must submit: A PHOP Leadership Endorsement Form completed by a first‑line leader. An updated résumé detailing hands‑on tool experience or manufacturing skill sets. Primary Responsibilities Interpret advanced airplane drawings and technical work instructions to identify work locations, parts, and tooling. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and company regulations. Operate mechanical lifts, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and apply chemical solvents, sealants, and coatings. Inspect work for foreign object debris and perform electrical safety checks. Work collaboratively with teammates and support teams to meet production goals. Maintain all required certifications and training throughout employment. Qualifications Contract labor mechanic in roles DAJX, DCTL, DEJ1, or DCTJ with successful completion of the PHOP program. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Experience with basic hand, power, and pneumatic tools; electrical assembly; avionics troubleshooting; and aircraft electrical systems. Computer skills including internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office Suite, and specialized applications. Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking). Physical ability to work variable shifts, lift/carry up to 35 lbs, use ladders, and operate in hazardous environments. Physical Demands Work variable shifts (first, second, or third). Walk, stand, climb free‑hand or with ladders, and work from stairs or inclined surfaces for up to 8 hours per day. Lift/carry up to 35 lbs; push/pull up to 45 lbs of force. Work with high‑hazard chemicals using prescribed protective equipment. Maintain confined space and fall protection certifications when required. Pay & Benefits LevelB: $54,000 – $64,000 per year. LevelC: $61,200 – $64,500 per year. Competitive base pay and variable compensation.
