Position Overview

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to support a school district in the San Jacinto area for the 2026-2027 school year .

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for conducting student evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, providing occupational therapy services, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with each student's educational needs and Individualized Education Program (IEP). The OT will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student participation, independence, and success within the educational setting.

This position serves a K-12 caseload and offers the opportunity to positively impact students by helping them develop the functional, sensory, motor, and self-regulation skills necessary for success in school.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments for students referred for services.

• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on evaluation results and IEP goals.

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in K-12 educational settings.

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers to support student achievement.

• Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding goals, accommodations, and service delivery.

• Monitor student progress and modify interventions as appropriate.

• Maintain accurate documentation, evaluation reports, service logs, and progress reports.

• Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications when appropriate.

• Promote student independence and participation in academic and school-related activities.

• Ensure compliance with district policies, IDEA regulations, and professional standards of practice.

Minimum Requirements

• Current California licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) .

• One (1) year of professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred.

• Previous school-based experience preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP processes, and school-based occupational therapy practices.

• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.

• Current CPR certification, if applicable.

• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, as required.

• Current health certificate, if required by contract or state regulations.

• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
