Job Title
Located in beautiful southeast Arizona, Sierra Vista Unified School District is seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join our PreK-12 team!
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge of computer word-processing and Microsoft Office applications, and Google
Minimum of two years' experience in related area performing secretarial or general office work in an office with considerable public contact, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training that demonstrates the desired knowledge, skills and abilities
Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills
Strong internal and external communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
Ability to use computers for email communications, word processing, data management and other assigned tasks as related to the position
Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
Ability to interact cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents, and community
Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level
Ability to understand and maintain students' and parents' rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students
Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position, is held in the highest of confidentiality
Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures, and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet regularly with the Administrators in Curriculum to develop and prioritize work projects
Maintain a schedule of appointments, arranges conferences/interviews, travel arrangements and/or hotel accommodations, maintain appointment calendars and schedules, process incoming correspondence and mail
Take and transcribe dictation of various types, including correspondence, reports, notices, recommendations, and may attend meetings in the role of recorder
Obtain, gather, organize, analyze, and maintain departmental data and records, including curriculum, assessment, instructional technology, and professional learning information, and prepare reports for district, state, and federal reporting requirements
Assist in a wide variety of confidential, administrative and secretarial support to the assigned District Office Administrators/Supervisors/Specialist
Including but not limited to placing and receiving telephone calls, greeting customers and screening unexpected callers in accordance with a predetermined policy
Refer non-job specific inquiries to appropriate departments
Maintain a regular filing system, and a set of locked confidential files, and maintain and process incoming correspondence, documents and materials as instructed and for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties, handle leave requests, and set up conferences
Process maintenance and purchase requisition orders
Maintain departmental documents, files, budgets, records, digital databases, and online management systems to ensure accurate, current, and accessible information related to curriculum, instructional resources, grants, professional development, and employee records
Compose complex documents (e.g., correspondence, reports, information brochures, presentations, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, state officials, etc.
Evaluate situations (e.g., involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution
Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
Maintain and update district curriculum, assessment, instructional technology, and professional learning platforms by creating and managing user accounts, maintaining staff and student access, updating organizational structures, troubleshooting basic user issues, and coordinating with vendors and district technology staff as needed
Coordinate and maintain the district's professional learning management system by creating training events, enrolling participants, tracking attendance, monitoring required trainings, maintaining professional development transcripts, generating reports, and assisting administrators with compliance documentation

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to reach with hands and arms, sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend as necessary. The employee may lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens, and use the telephone.
Work Environment:
Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with parents, students, staff and the public.
Organizational Relationships:
The Curriculum Secretary (District Office) reports to the assigned District Office Administrator/Supervisors/Specialist. The Curriculum Secretary (District Office) will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
Terms of Employment:
Initial Wage Placement Plan: Starting at $15.35 Per Hour
Work Year: 12 Months / 8 hours per day
