Responsibilities

Administers, supervises, and directs the administration of occupational therapy evaluations, therapeutic activity, construction of orthotics, and instruction in their use upon referral from a physician. In conjunction with the physician, establishes, supervises, and directs the appropriate treatment program of patients.

Minimum Qualifications

• Maintain current, active licensure from Ohio Board of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers.
• Adhere to the standards set by the American Occupational Therapy Association regarding treatment procedure and professional ethics.
• Hold American Heart Association CPR certification; at hire, only American Red Cross CPR certification will be accepted.
• Pass annual safety test.
• Achieve competencies for the assigned work area as dictated by the director (e.g., age-specific, suctioning, aseptic technique).

Communication and Other Skills

Good written and verbal communication skills to function as a team member, assure adequate documentation for payors, and ensure continuity of care.

Physical Requirements

1. Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable.
2. Ability to hear (with or without aides).
3. Ability to orally communicate.
4. Good manual dexterity.
5. Ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally.
6. Ability to stand, walk frequently.
7. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently.
8. Ability to perform CPR (if required for the position).
