About the Position

CRNA Night Coverage Opportunity - Virginia

A healthcare system is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide night coverage across multiple surgical locations. This assignment offers a broad case mix, high-acuity exposure, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative anesthesia team environment.

Compensation: $220/hr

Assignment Details


Start Date: October 2026

Schedule


Night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM


Three 12-hour shifts per week


Weekend availability required


Schedule runs Sunday through Saturday


Full-time availability highly preferred


Providers able to commit to at least two weeks per month will also be considered


Six-month commitment preferred

Coverage Locations


Multiple hospital and ambulatory surgery center locations within the health system


Floating between sites may be required

Practice Setting


Hospital and ambulatory surgery center environment


Level II Trauma experience required


Broad surgical case mix


Collaborative anesthesia care team model

Clinical Responsibilities


Case Types


Providers will manage a variety of anesthetic cases, including:


Obstetrics


Thoracic surgery


Vascular surgery


Electrophysiology procedures


Orthopedics


Gastroenterology


ENT


Healthy pediatric dental and ENT cases


General surgery


Lung procedures


Exclusions


Transplant cases are not included

Required Skills


Independent spinal anesthesia placement and management


Independent epidural placement and management


OB anesthesia experience


Thoracic anesthesia experience


Ability to manage trauma-related cases


Not Performed by CRNAs


Peripheral nerve blocks

Support & Environment


Credentialing at multiple facilities within the system


Occasional floating between locations


Exposure to both main operating rooms and satellite surgical sites

Qualifications


Required


Active Virginia CRNA license at time of submission


Current AHA certifications


Minimum two years of CRNA experience


Level II Trauma experience


OB anesthesia experience


Thoracic anesthesia experience


Proficiency with spinal and epidural anesthesia


Preferred


Pediatric anesthesia experience

Credentialing


Emergency privileges may be available for urgent coverage needs


Credentialing available across multiple sites

Ideal Candidate


Seeking a full-time night schedule


Comfortable working independently across a broad surgical case mix


Experienced in trauma, OB, thoracic, and vascular anesthesia


Flexible with occasional site-to-site coverage


Available for weekend and holiday scheduling needs
