Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Burn & Wound Intensive Care Unit – Wisconsin

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 PM and 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and some holidays. 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts.

• Work on an 11-bed acuity adaptable unit providing critical care to burn and complex wound patients across the lifespan (neonates through geriatrics)
• Epic charting system; 20 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• No burn care performance required; focus on ICU-level patient management

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only); PALS preferred
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% overall score)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Arterial line and central line care/management
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
• BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula management
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Care of burn, wound, and off-service ICU/IMC patients
