Overview Animal League of Gaston Co. d/b/a Low-Cost Spay/Neuter & Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. As a non-profit, we offer programs that may assist with student loan debt repayment after a prescribed number of years. We are located between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the NC coast, with about a 1.5-2.5 hour drive to either for long weekends. Responsibilities Conduct thorough examinations of animals and diagnose illnesses or injuries Develop and implement treatment plans for companion animals based on their conditions Train to perform or perform surgical procedures, such as spaying/neutering, pyometras, tumor removals, eye enucliations Administer vaccinations and medications to prevent and treat diseases Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, exercise, and grooming Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care Maintain accurate medical records for all patients Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school - Valid NC state veterinary license with 1 year Proficiency in animal catheterization, animal restraint, and general animal care techniques.
