Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for field, office, technical, and leadership positions.
• Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, establish priorities, and understand position requirements.
• Create, update, and post job advertisements on appropriate recruiting platforms.
• Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, direct outreach, community partnerships, trade schools, workforce programs, and recruiting events.
• Review applications and resumes to identify candidates who meet position requirements.
• Conduct telephone and virtual pre-screening interviews.
• Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
• Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
• Provide hiring managers with timely updates regarding candidate pipelines and recruiting progress.
• Prepare offer letters and initiate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screenings, and other required documentation.
• Build and maintain candidate pipelines for high-volume and difficult-to-fill positions.
• Develop relationships with trade schools, colleges, workforce development organizations, veteran organizations, and community partners.
• Plan, coordinate, and attend job fairs, career fairs, hiring events, and community recruiting activities.
• Represent DIG professionally at external recruiting and networking events.
• Travel to the Manassas and Richmond offices, company locations, job sites, and recruiting events based on operational and hiring needs.
• Maintain accurate candidate information and recruiting activity within the company’s applicant tracking and HR systems.
• Track recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate sources, interview activity, offer acceptance rates, and hiring outcomes.
• Assist with improving recruiting processes, candidate communication, and the overall candidate experience.

Onboarding and Retention Support

• Assist with coordinating new-hire onboarding and orientation activities.
• Confirm that required new-hire paperwork and pre-employment requirements are completed before the employee’s start date.
• Communicate first-day instructions and onboarding expectations to new employees.
• Support new-hire check-ins during the first 30 days of employment.
• Help identify early employment concerns that may affect retention.
• Conduct or assist with stay interviews and exit interviews when requested.
• Share recruiting, onboarding, and retention trends with HR leadership.
• Support employee referral, engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling applicant and employee information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• At least three years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience preferred.
• Experience recruiting for construction, utilities, skilled trades, manufacturing, or other high-volume field positions strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience sourcing candidates and managing multiple open positions simultaneously.
• Strong interviewing, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and meet hiring deadlines.
• Comfortable communicating with field employees, candidates, supervisors, hiring managers, and senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking or HR information systems.
• Experience using ADP Workforce Now, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, and other recruiting platforms preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%, including out-of-state travel and overnight travel.
• Must be available to attend job fairs and recruiting events outside normal business hours when required.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Ability to work primarily in an office environment while also visiting job sites, schools, career fairs, and community events.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and transport recruiting materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to adjust work location and schedule based on recruiting priorities and company needs.
