Fixed Income Research Analyst

Overview US Investment Grade Credit Research Analyst on our Global Fixed Income Research team, supporting our fixed income portfolio management teams. The analyst’s role will include fundamental analysis of individual companies in assigned industries focusing on financial performance, competitive industry placement, and the quality of company management. This fundamental analysis will be the basis for relative value evaluations and investment recommendations provided by the analyst to the portfolio management teams. US Investment Grade Credit Research Analyst on our Global Fixed Income Research team, supporting our fixed income portfolio management teams. The analyst’s role will include fundamental analysis of individual companies in assigned industries focusing on financial performance, competitive industry placement, and the quality of company management. This fundamental analysis will be the basis for relative value evaluations and investment recommendations provided by the analyst to the portfolio management teams. We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week. Location(s): Milwaukee, WI Responsibilities Perform thorough fundamental credit analysis, including financial statement analysis, evaluation of financial policy, quality of management, management strategy, competitive position, etc. Assess broad industry trends such as shifts in competition, regulation, and general market dynamics with a view towards investment implications. Produce written research to support fundamental and relative value recommendations and effectively communicate with traders and portfolio managers. Participate in daily, weekly, and quarterly research meetings, as well as an array of other meetings relevant to the investment process. Work with portfolio managers and other research analysts on ad hoc projects as appropriate. Represent Allspring Global Investment’s research capabilities at client and/or consultant meetings. Attend company and industry presentations; liaise with sell-side contacts and build relationships with other market participants such as rating agency analysts. Qualifications Required Qualifications The candidate must be degree qualified. At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in credit or equity research. Strong analytical skills, particularly in performing financial statement analysis and assessing industry trends. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic format, as well as written material. Ability to work in a collaborative business environment in close quarters with peers and varying interruptions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment. Ability to work at a computer and use standard business software for extended periods during the workday. Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and business partners in person and electronically as needed. Engage in regular in-person interaction and collaboration with team members and other stakeholders. Work effectively in a professional office environment with ongoing collaboration, activity, and shifting priorities. Maintain productivity and focus while balancing multiple tasks and interruptions common in an in-person business setting. Preferred Qualifications CFA designation or progress towards attaining the CFA designation. Experience in the utilities sector a plus. Ability to exercise judgement in time management and prioritization of work. Bloomberg and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) experience. Capability to work independently and is self-motivated. Compensation Base Pay Range: $125,000 - $160,000 Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
