Registered Nurse (RN)Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) is the state's leading provider of sexual and reproductive health care, nationally recognized for education and research. We operate four health centers and offer telehealth statewide as part of a network of 600 Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide.The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across a range of services, including family planning, abortion care, recovery room services, on-call nursing, and centralized follow-up services. Care is delivered in accordance with Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) protocols, organizational policies, and the professional standards of the American Nurses Association.The RN ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA Privacy and Security, OSHA, CLIA, Title X, CDC, DEA, and Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements. This role collaborates closely with health center staff to support safe, equitable, and inclusive reproductive health care.The RN also serves as a clinical role model and supervising resource for health care assistants, volunteers, and interns while fostering a respectful, team-based work environment.Your day to day:Recovery Room CarePerform patient admissions, assessments, counseling, discharge, and recovery room set-up and clean-up in accordance with protocols and standing ordersAdminister and dispense prescribed non-controlled medications per provider orders and standing ordersAssess and manage expected and unexpected post-procedure outcomes in coordination with providers and Screening RNsPerform venipuncture and point-of-care testing per standing ordersInsert and remove IV cathetersRN Visits & Medication Abortion SupportProvide RN-led family planning visits, including injection-based servicesRespond to triage-related nursing tasksSupport medication abortion care by preparing encounters, providing contraceptive, STI, and abortion counseling, and dispensing prescribed medications under standing ordersOn-Call NursingParticipate in after-hours RN call rotation (approximately 2–6 shifts per month)Additional ResponsibilitiesConduct clinical audits as needed based on health center needs and RN skill levelMaintain current knowledge of nursing best practices and regulatory requirementsPerform other duties as assigned in support of patient care and clinic operationsQualifications:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredCurrent, unrestricted Massachusetts RN license requiredCurrent CPR certification requiredClinical experience in sexual and reproductive health preferredCommitment to health equity, patient autonomy, and trauma-informed careStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based clinical environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for approximately 95% of the workdayAbility to lift up to 30 pounds unassistedAbility to bend, reach, and stock clinical supplies$36.67 - $36.67 an hour This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:Generous Paid Time OffMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance403(b) Retirement Plan with employer matchLife and Disability InsuranceProfessional Development OpportunitiesCommuter BenefitsA mission-driven workplace that values equity, inclusion, and belongingPPLM is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and an equal opportunity employer that values a diverse workforce and a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
