Transportation Specialist

Description TOC (Transportation Operation Center) is the central command and control center for transportation execution across Amazon’s Supply Chain network supporting markets like NA, India and EU. It ensures timely pick‑up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. In case of exceptions, TOC resolves issues and informs stakeholders, monitors trends, and proposes process improvements to streamline operations. Role Overview A Trans Ops Specialist at TOC facilitates flow of information between carriers, vendors, FCs, and other stakeholders, resolving issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The role spans inbound and outbound operations, managing relationships, and ensuring freight is handled on time. Responsibilities Communicate with external customers (carriers, vendors, suppliers) and internal teams (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers) Pull data from databases using Excel, Access, SQL, or other systems; perform ad‑hoc reporting and analysis to identify trends Develop and track performance metrics to drive business results Scope business and functional requirements for Amazon technology teams that build or enhance TOC tools Analyze business impact of trends and make data‑driven decisions Escalate problems or variances to relevant owners, follow through on resolutions, and ensure delivery Manage tasks within tight time constraints while measuring and documenting activities Write narratives on weekly findings, variances to goals, and present findings in review forums Provide real‑time customer experience support in a 24*7 operating environment Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics Experience with Excel Preferred Qualifications Experience with SQL Additional Information Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver results for our customers.
