Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision components for oil and gas, aerospace, and general industrial manufacturing applications. You will work with advanced CNC mills and lathes to manufacture parts that meet strict quality and performance standards, including devices used to perforate oil and gas wells in preparation for production.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Perform complete machine setups, including loading programs, selecting tooling, setting tool offsets, and adjusting workholding fixtures.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining processes.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify that they meet specifications.
• Run CNC equipment with Fanuc and Haas controls, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Work with G-code programs to operate machines and, where applicable, assist with CNC programming and editing.
• Monitor machine operations, identify issues, and troubleshoot machining problems to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety procedures and best practices in a fully climate-controlled facility.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
• Support extended production schedules by working additional hours when needed, including early starts, late finishes, and some Saturdays.

Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of CNC machinist experience or completion of CNC education/training or CNC schooling.
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Familiarity with Fanuc and Haas CNC controls.
• Working knowledge of G-code and CNC programming concepts.
• Strong understanding of machining processes for oil and gas, aerospace, and industrial components.
• Ability to perform accurate machine setups and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate parts.

Work Environment

This position is based in a fully climate-controlled manufacturing facility with modern CNC mills and lathes, including machines running Fanuc and Haas controls. Shifts typically run Monday through Saturday, with a first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a second shift from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Overtime is available and can be earned by coming in early, staying late, and working on Saturdays, with current schedules averaging around 55 hours per week. The facility is designed for comfort and efficiency, supporting extended hours while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
