Associate Director, Scientific Affairs

Associate Director – Scientific Affairs PRIME Education, a property of Everyday Health Group, is looking for a highly independent Associate Director who will combine scientific medical writing, educational design innovation, and grant development expertise to develop educational grants and content. This remote role involves investigative and analytical work, cultivating relationships with expert faculty, and ensuring quality scientific and medical writing. The role reports to the Therapeutic Group Director, Scientific Affairs and works with cross‑functional teams. Key Responsibilities Develop high‑caliber medical and scientific content with editorial excellence and adult learning principles. Contribute to grant planning and development, including educational designs, formats, and execution plans. Establish and maintain relationships with key leaders in health care to identify educational program needs and grant opportunities. Measure outcomes of high‑impact educational programs, including survey development and program analyses. Develop scientific articles, abstracts, and outcomes‑based presentations and publications. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and meet company goals. Identify and resolve instructional design issues, providing timely recommendations. Review content from other medical writers and freelancers, ensuring clinical relevance and accuracy. Participate in decisions regarding PRIME Education’s model of learning and implementation procedures. Participate in regular grant and content planning meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Minimum Master’s degree (PhD or PharmD preferred) in a scientific, medical, or related field. Prefer minimum of 4 years designing and developing CME/CE activities for health professionals. Prefer experience in CME/CE activities supported by pharmaceutical companies or government grants. Prefer experience in training, project management, and/or staff supervision in a team‑based environment. Excellent ability to work independently and autonomously, and to multi‑task multiple high‑level responsibilities. Ability to independently research, design, and develop high‑quality scientific grant and medical writing. Ability to independently complete literature review and analyze scientific/medical research. Analytical and didactic ability to produce medical writing in accordance with AMA criteria and grant procedures. Ability to organize and convey educational designs and deliverables efficiently. Proficiency in analytical thinking and conveying complex data results concisely. Ability to gather data from verifiable sources for grant development. Creative and visionary skills to design and execute innovative educational programs. Current knowledge of healthcare industry, pharmaceutical pipelines, health policies, and CE industry. Experience developing content in disease areas such as oncology, diabetes, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, respiratory, pain management, mental health, women’s health, gastroenterology, hepatology, infectious diseases, or immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases. Excellent English language skills, written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and reference manager applications.
