Director of Accounting

We are partnering with a growing technology organization in Boston that is hiring a Director of Accounting to help lead its next stage of financial maturity. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who understands the speed and complexity of SaaS and knows how to build an accounting function that can keep up with it. You’ll have meaningful influence over financial reporting, technical accounting, controls, systems, and team development while partnering closely with senior finance leadership. Why This Role Is Different Join a sophisticated technology organization during an important stage of growth Own and influence accounting operations rather than simply manage a close calendar Work directly with senior finance and executive leadership Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team Help create scalable processes, controls, and systems for continued expansion Gain exposure to complex SaaS accounting and strategic business initiatives Opportunity to modernize an accounting function through automation and better technology Significant runway for continued leadership growth What You’ll Own Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely financial statements Establish scalable accounting processes that can support continued company growth Provide leadership around complex and technical accounting matters Oversee areas such as revenue recognition, accruals, equity, and other SaaS-specific accounting activities Manage external audit relationships and lead annual audit preparation Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance Partner with FP&A and business leadership to improve financial visibility Evaluate existing accounting systems and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency Develop, mentor, and challenge accounting team members Support strategic initiatives, transactions, and special projects as the business evolves The Experience We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 10+ years of progressive accounting experience Significant experience within the technology and SaaS industries required Demonstrated accounting leadership and team management experience Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting Strong understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition Experience managing complex month end and year end close processes Experience leading external audits Strong ERP and financial systems background CPA strongly preferred Public accounting experience is highly valued Experience within a rapidly growing or scaling technology organization is a major plus Logistics Industry: Technology / SaaS Schedule: Full time Employment Type: Permanent Experience: 10+ years required SaaS Experience: Required Technology Industry Experience: Required Start Date: ASAP If you've spent your career building deep accounting expertise and are ready to use it to build, lead, improve, and influence, this could be an exciting next chapter.
