Clinical Nurse Coordinator OR RN Ortho Neuro

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (RN Ortho Neuro) at HCA Healthcare plays a key leadership and clinical role within the orthopedic and neurology patient care units. Based within our Healthcare & Medical Services department, this position supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by coordinating clinical operations, guiding bedside staff, and serving as a clinical resource for complex orthopedic and neurological patients.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based care throughout the patient’s stay. You will help oversee patient flow, coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers, and support staff in implementing individualized care plans. You will participate in rounding, assess changes in patient condition, and assist with escalations, interventions, and care planning for patients with orthopedic injuries, post-surgical needs, spine conditions, stroke, neurotrauma, and other neurological disorders.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator provides hands-on clinical care as an RN while also serving as a resource and mentor to the team. You will support onboarding and precepting of new staff, reinforce clinical standards, and promote adherence to policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements. You will help identify opportunities to improve quality, patient safety, and patient experience outcomes, participating in unit-based projects, audits, and performance improvement initiatives.

The position involves frequent patient and family interaction, providing education regarding orthopedic and neurologic conditions, post-operative care, pain management, mobility and fall prevention, stroke warning signs, and discharge planning. You will help coordinate with case management, rehabilitation services, and outpatient providers to support smooth transitions of care and reduce readmissions.
