Company DescriptionMaganti IT Resources LLCJob DescriptionTitle: Road Transportation ManagerLocation: Dundee, MIType: PermanentDuties and Responsibilities:• Define and facilitate implementation of consistent best practices for aggregate logistics and distribution processes, systems and tools • Identify synergies in logistics between all product lines and implement action plans for achievement • Negotiate together with Procurement and local management on all road freight contracts and agreements • Develop strategic alliances with our road service providers where appropriate • Partner with the Safety team to ensure vendors comply with relevant safety requirements • Develop, implement and oversee a certification program for logistics suppliers • Issue logistics monthly business reports including key performance indicators (KPI's) • Maintain awareness of all industry developments via key trade associations, government contacts, journals, seminars, conferences • Benchmark performance versus key competitors • Develop a team to manage all aspects of aggregate road transportation services • Provide a mechanism for rapid conflict solution • Establish a process that will provide wide access to road transportation rates and the quick development of freight rates for potential logistics networks and studies • Maintain close coordination and communication with regional management, terminals, procurement and customers • Other duties as assigned.For the first year this position will have at least 50% travel, after the first year this will be reduced to 25% - 30%.This position reports to the Director, Supply Chain Mgmt& Logistics.Health and Safety Responsibilities:• Implements OH&S Mission: Ensures alignment of OH&S activities arising from OpCo OH&S mission • Ensures adequate OH&S organization: Ensures relevant actions are taken so that OH&S requirements are met • Identifies Hazards & Control Risks: Actively manages risks by ensuring that all related control activities are implemented thoroughly • Manages Incidents: Drives committed and effective incident managementRequired qualification:• Road transportation experience (trucking) • 3-5 year’s logistics experience • Minimum 1-3 experience in leadership positions/supervisory experience • Bachelor’s degree • Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skillsPREFERRED skills:• Dump or pneumatic bulk tankers experience• SAP efficiencyOTHER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:• Excellent management skills, both of self and others • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills • Good business and financial acumen • Good coaching skills; able to effectively delegate responsibility • Ability to adapt to change while maintaining customer focus • Ability to interact with and gain commitment from all levels of the organization • Ability to build and develop successful teams • Proficient in Computer skillsQualificationsRequired qualification:• Road transportation experience (trucking) • 3-5 year’s logistics experience • Minimum 1-3 experience in leadership positions/supervisory experience • Bachelor’s degree • Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skillsPREFERRED skills:• Dump or pneumatic bulk tankers experience• SAP efficiencyAdditional InformationPlease help pass along to colleagues or associates below position who are looking for new role if you are not available.For further details contact me at SummaryType: Full-timeFunction: Information TechnologyExperience level: Mid-Senior LevelIndustry: Construction
