Bilingual Patient Financial Advocate

Providing financial counseling to uninsured and underinsured patients, the full-time Bilingual Patient Financial Advocate will assist in determining medical assistance eligibility and processing applications for various financial assistance programs while working remotely. Key responsibilities Processes financial assistance applications and verifies patient information for completeness and accuracy Collects patient payments and accurately posts them in the system while documenting all interactions in charity software and/or EPIC Identifies individuals eligible for state or federally funded programs and provides education on available health plans Required qualifications Demonstrated experience in healthcare revenue cycle, patient access, or customer service roles Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act, insurance billing, medical terminology, and reimbursement practices Proficiency in interpreting insurance Explanation of Benefits Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic health record systems Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred
