Position Summary The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for supporting accounting and financial reporting for RPM. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, cash management and the general ledger for a portfolio of properties. Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines/requirements while adhering to accounting policies and procedures and maintaining effective internal controls Prepare financials for multiple clients with different reporting requirements Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and property management in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service Requires the use of detailed technical accounting skills to assess appropriateness of accounting treatment Requires cash flow management to pay the property expenses and to predict the need for funding Records journal entries & accruals, reconciles income, and documents prepaid rent in industry specific software Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly Perform bank reconciliations as appropriate Perform cash disbursement through wires and checks, prepares invoicing and inter-company collections, and maintains a daily cash balance Act as a mentor to help train new or less experienced accounting staff Participate in the preparation & maintenance of written policies & procedures for functions/duties performed Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Executive Team Education And Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience 2+ Years of Property Management Experience Preferred or equivalent Preferred Industry Specific Software: Yardi, MRI, and/or RealPage/Onesite Microsoft Office Qualifications Physical Requirements: May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment Work Environment This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 4 days per week The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions Company Information Weekly pay for all associates working onsite at an apartment community Comprehensive healthcare coverage available for all full-time, regular associates Employer-paid employee assistance, mental health, and wellness programs Ancillary benefits including critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident insurance 401(k) with robust company match Opportunities for professional development, career growth, and role-based learning plans Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) and multiple Employee Resource Groups (ERG) Paid time off plus floating holidays and volunteer days Discounted Perks (Costco membership, movie tickets, health & wellness, entertainment & travel discounts) Employment with RPM Living is contingent upon successful completion of a background check as local and federal state requires.
