Hot Cook / Culinary Team Member (early AM)

$21-$25/hr (based on years of exp)

Broadmead | A Quaker Values–Based Community

Under the supervision of the Sous Chef, the Hot Cook is responsible for all hot food production for Holly Terrace, the Health Care community, Arbor Café, and Special Functions. This role follows production sheets and recipes to ensure consistent quality, presentation, and flavor—while contributing creativity, teamwork, and care to everyday dining.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and present high‑quality hot food for daily meals and special events
• Complete daily advance prep and follow production sheets accurately
• Set up and operate grill and à la carte stations
• Contribute creatively to midday buffet menu development
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control
• Support and guide line servers as needed to maintain standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Health Department requirements
• Promote positive internal customer service and teamwork
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of hot cook experience, including 1 year in an institutional or comparable setting
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, knife skills, portion control, and kitchen operations
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and Health Department regulations
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production sheets
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to support and guide others
• Willingness to obtain and pass ServSafe certification
• Effective communication skills in English
• Commitment to confidentiality, person‑centered care, and Broadmead's mission
• Good physical and mental health (health clearance required)
