Certified Pharmacy Technician

The Certified Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the preparation, packaging, and distribution of prescription medications within a high-volume mail-order pharmacy environment serving Veterans nationwide. This role ensures medications are filled accurately, safely, and efficiently using both automated systems and manual processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, label, and dispense prescription medications for pharmacist verification
• Fill and stock medications in automated dispensing equipment and storage areas
• Operate pharmacy automation systems (autofill machines, repackaging equipment, A-frames, etc.)
• Maintain medication inventory, rotate stock, and monitor expiration dates
• Use computer systems and scanners to select medications by drug name, strength, and NDC number
• Assist with equipment cleaning and basic preventative maintenance
• Follow safety procedures when handling medications and hazardous materials

Schedule

• 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM 12:00 AM
• MondayFriday operations (overtime/holidays as needed)

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or CPhT)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic math, computer, and typing skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (810 hours)
• Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull carts when needed
• Perform repetitive movements such as reaching, stocking, and scanning

Work Environment

• Fast-paced, high-volume mail-order pharmacy setting supporting Veterans across the U.S.
