The reporting location for this position will be the Sacramento Headquarters. This position works under the direction of the Information Technology Manager II.
T he eDiscovery Specialist is an Information Technology Specialist I position serving as the primary data triage & preservation professional. This position is responsible for eDiscovery local device forensic preservation activities for the Department across the entire California State Parks system. This position is based in Sacramento and travels frequently to conduct data triage on a wide-ranging span of technologies serving Headquarters, Division/District/Sector offices, and all 288 field sites spread across a very diverse geographical environment: the entire State of California. The incumbent is expected to complete work assignments independently in a highly organized, timely, well documented and communicated at-all-times manner.
Travel will be required for this position. Training and Development Assignments may be considered. This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered. State housing is not available. Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Encase EnCE and Cellebrite CCO certifications are highly desired at time of hire and are the professional certifications necessary for the eDiscovery specialist to succeed. The EnCE and CCO are required to be held prior to completion of probation. A CISSP/CISM certification with extensive working knowledge of information security is very highly encouraged and desired. Knowledge of technology infrastructures and advanced understanding of core networking, information security, and project management are essential skills for the incumbent to succeed in all assigned duties and for upward mobility.
