What You Get to Do Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI Build optimized Power BI data models, including relationships, hierarchies, and calculated measures Write and optimize DAX expressions for complex calculations and performance tuning Develop and manage Power Query (M) scripts for data transformation and ingestion Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources (SQL, cloud, APIs, files, etc.) Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting solutions Ensure report accuracy, performance, security, and usability Implement row‑level security (RLS) and manage access control Monitor and optimize Power BI service performance and refresh schedules Maintain documentation and follow BI development best practices Support ongoing enhancements, troubleshooting, and user adoption What You Bring 3+ years of hands‑on expertise with Power BI, including: Power BI Desktop Power BI Service Power BI Gateway Power BI Apps & Workspaces Strong experience with: DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) Power Query / M language Data modeling and dimensional design (star/snowflake schemas) Proficiency with SQL and relational databases Experience connecting Power BI to diverse data sources, including: SQL Server Azure SQL / Synapse Excel, CSV, and flat files REST APIs Snowflake Solid understanding of performance optimization and best practices in Power BI Experience implementing data security, including Row-Level Security (RLS) Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake) Familiarity with SSAS (Tabular) or Analysis Services Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Microsoft Power BI or Azure certifications Work Environment Hybrid role based in Seattle, WA Onsite presence required 3 days per week Must be able to work for a US based company without requiring visa sponsorship. Compensation and Benefits Hourly contract rate range of $45.00 to $58.00 based on experience and qualifications, as well as geographical market and business considerations.
