This full-time, contract opportunity focuses on both middle and elementary grades, working with a self-contained, non-severe caseload for Vance Middle School as well as providing resource support for elementary students K-5.

This position follows the academic calendar, running from now until June 4, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (7:15am – 3:15pm, 37.5 hours per week). Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification recognized for public schools
• Experience with self-contained classrooms and elementary resource settings preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
• Effective communication with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction according to student needs
• Organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and deadlines
• Collaborative spirit and professional demeanor

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students on a self-contained, non-severe caseload at the middle school level
• Offer resource intervention and services for K-5 students as needed
• Develop, review, and implement IEPs in partnership with school staff and families
• Track and report on student progress using appropriate data collection tools
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings
• Foster a nurturing, respectful classroom that promotes student engagement
