Make a difference every day by supporting students as a Paraprofessional in an educational environment near Henderson, NC. If you’re seeking a rewarding contract role, you'll provide essential assistance to students in elementary and middle school settings, specifically working 1:1 with children who have behavioral needs and some with autism. This position starts as soon as possible and extends through December 2026, with the possibility to continue longer.
Your background in education and experience working with children will help students succeed academically and personally. Enjoy a balanced work week of Monday through Friday shifts, which may include some partial days as schedules are finalized.
What We’re Looking For:
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 48 hours college-level coursework
- At least two years of experience as a school-based paraprofessional
- Familiarity with supporting students with behavioral challenges and/or autism
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with educators, therapists, and families
- Adaptability in dynamic classroom settings
What You’ll Do:
- Provide 1:1 and small group assistance to elementary and middle school students
- Support students with tasks, assignments, and positive behavior strategies
- Collaborate with special education staff and teachers to execute individualized student plans
- Foster an engaging, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the instructional team
- Assist with classroom organization and daily routines
