Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting middle school students in a vibrant educational community. This position offers a structured, full-time schedule running now through June 4, 2027, providing the chance to help shape young minds over the school year. You’ll work Monday through Friday, from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, guiding a self-contained, non-severe caseload in a dynamic middle school setting.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (NC or ability to obtain)
- Experience with self-contained classrooms or middle school populations preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with both students and fellow educators
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver adapted instruction to meet the diverse needs of students in a self-contained classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to promote student success
- Develop, implement, and regularly update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Engage families and guardians in the educational process, maintaining open and productive communication
- Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training to stay current with best practices in Special Education
