FT / PT Status – Full-Time Salary – $30.47 - $49.69 Hourly Wage Remote Work / In-Office – In-Office / On-Site Application Deadline – 8/16/2026* Schedule: Monday through: Friday 8:00-4:30 Key Responsibilities The research consultant is responsible for accurately documenting, analyzing, and reporting data collection trends within USDC. This position requires a wide range of knowledge pertaining to the rules and regulations of an intermediate care facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of the needs and care requirements of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Day-to-day Responsibilities Of This Position Performs independent study and analysis of significant and critical issues of concern to USDC. Recommends policy options, form conclusions, and develop recommendations based on project findings and provide detailed plans and impact analyses. Facilitates the use of research data to improve existing programs. Evaluates all aspects of research projects, project findings, and operational data regarding technical merits and implications. Designs, develops, and conducts a variety of research projects; determines appropriate methodologies, information sources, sampling strategies, and data-collection tools. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards and guidelines,etc. Collaborates with staff to investigate incidents, gathering facts, and context to support appropriate action. Tracks follow-up actions, including corrective measures, outcomes, and resolution status. Monitors system performance to ensure proper operation and identify possible problem areas. Interprets, clarifies, explains, and applies agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations, etc. Assists in preparing for audits or inspections related to critical incident reporting. Communicates with treatment teams to ensure timely and appropriate interventions. Reports trends and patterns of incidents to management, recommending improvements to policies or procedures as needed. Creates a positive environment, evaluates group processes, recommends solutions or alternatives. Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: 2 years of experience working with individuals with IDD Possess an intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Office and Google Suite One year of professional research or data analysis experience High school diploma or equivalent required Preferred Or Trainable/on-the-job Qualifications 3 years of experience working in an ICF/IID setting Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a human services related or statistical field preferred About The Role This is a working level research consulting job. Incumbents consult with and make presentations directly to agency executives, local officials, legislators, or other similar high ranking officials routinely in the performance of duties. Incumbents form conclusions, and develop recommendations for policy, programs, regulations, etc. Incumbents provide specialized expertise in research design, analysis, and data needed to examine issues, trends and program evaluations. Incumbents design, conduct and coordinate research projects for all areas of concern to the agency. Incumbents recommend policy options based on project findings and provide detailed cost-allocation plans and impact analyses, and facilitate the use of research data to improve existing programs. Incumbents select from established guidelines or practices to accomplish tasks. Incumbents work with a minimal level of supervisory controls and errors in data/recommendations may have significant impact on the agency. Incumbents are required to have a wide range of knowledge of assigned subject matter. Incumbents may functionally or directly supervise.
