Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail
Are you interested in volunteering on the Mount Vernon Trail? The Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail believes that the Mount Vernon Trail and the George Washington Memorial Parkway should be enjoyed by all and that everyone should be given the opportunity to be a steward of the park. With 18 miles of trail crossing Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax counties, volunteer events are easily accessible by those living in Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.
Volunteers activities include: removing invasive vegetation, picking up trash, trail edging, and removing branches.
We typically schedule volunteer events a month in advance. All upcoming events are on our website. You can register to volunteer at
