Requires US Citizenship Employment Term and Type: Regular, Full Time Required Security Clearance : Public Trust or None to start (Secret preferred) Required Education : High School or equivalent Salary Band: Hourly wage range - $19.00/hr to $24.00/hr Required Experience: 3 years of relevant procurement, acquisition, or DoD contracting experience.

Job Description: The Procurement Specialist supports procurement and purchasing activities across multiple projects, including vendor coordination, market research, quote collection and comparison, purchase requisition preparation, order tracking, and procurement documentation management. This position works closely with buyers, project personnel, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support timely, cost-effective purchasing and resolve routine procurement and delivery issues.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

• Maintain record keeping systems.
• Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
• Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
• Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
• Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries.
• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic.
• Report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to Supervisor.
• Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Prepare Purchase requisition forms using MS Excel and Adobe.
• Conduct market research and gather quotes from vendors.
• Perform best cost analysis and collaborate with buyer to award purchase orders.
• Assist in the purchase order closeout process to include creating DD1149's.
• Update ordering and receiving trackers in Excel.
• Ensure purchase requisition files are uploaded and organized in MS SharePoint.
• Work with vendors to initiate the RMA process as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to receive and maintain a clearance.
• Self starter/motivated individual; as the person at times will be working independently.
• Ability to work within a flexible team environment with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of project support staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Ability to multi-task among several projects while being detail-oriented and organized.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, as well as establish and maintain a strong customer focused working relationship.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel and Word is required.

Desired Requirements:

• Ability to review quotes, compare pricing, maintain accurate records, and prepare procurement documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve routine purchasing issues.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, requests for quotes (RFQs), vendor communications, and order tracking.
• Familiarity with government contracting, FAR/DFARS requirements, or DoD procurement processes.
• Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team environment.
