Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist

Job Title: Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist Location: Houston, TX Compensation: $30.00 – $31.00 / hour Benefits: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Job Summary We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for customer invoicing, cash application, collections follow‑up, and account reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. The ideal candidate has strong AR experience, excellent analytical skills, and hands‑on experience with OpenInvoice. Key Responsibilities Invoicing & Billing Generate and submit accurate customer invoices through OpenInvoice and other customer billing portals Review billing documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submission Maintain organized records of invoices and supporting documentation Resolve invoice discrepancies and billing issues in a timely manner Cash Application Post and apply customer payments including ACH, wire transfers, and checks Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments Ensure payments are accurately applied to customer accounts Collections & Account Management Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances Contact customers regarding past‑due invoices and payment status Maintain professional customer relationships while enforcing payment terms Document collection activity and customer communication within internal systems Reconciliation & Reporting Perform account reconciliations and resolve customer account discrepancies Assist with month‑end close activities related to accounts receivable Prepare AR reports and aging updates for management as needed Administrative & Accounting Support Maintain accurate and organized financial records Support the accounting team with reporting and documentation requests Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and efficiencies Qualifications 3+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or collections experience preferred OpenInvoice experience required Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred Strong Excel skills including formulas, reconciliations, and data analysis Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment How to Apply If you are an experienced AR Specialist with OpenInvoice experience looking for a new opportunity, we encourage you to apply.
