Technical Lead

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with a strong background in Java-based enterprise application development and API integration to lead the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical banking solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Java technologies, microservices architecture, API management, cloud-native development, and financial services systems.

The Technical Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and development teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing applications while ensuring compliance with banking industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Technical Leadership
  • Lead a team of developers through the full software development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical direction, architecture guidance, and code review support.
  • Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
  • Mentor junior and senior developers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Application Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java technologies.
  • Drive the implementation of microservices-based architectures using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of applications.
• API Integration & Management
  • Lead the design and implementation of RESTful APIs and integration services.
  • Integrate banking systems with internal and external applications using APIs, middleware, and messaging frameworks.
  • Work with API gateways such as Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, IBM API Connect, or AWS API Gateway.
  • Implement API security standards including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and mutual TLS.

Company Description

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
