Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Skills in trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. - Experience with non-titrating drips (required): Heparin, Lasix, Protonix. - Experience with non-titrating drips (preferred): Cardizem, Amiodarone. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the MedSurg/Tele specialty. This role requires providing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The unit encompasses a total of 20 beds for various patient types. Primary patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, kidney/liver/GI/respiratory issues, infections, and wounds. The majority of patients are medical, but there may be surgical admissions as well. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5. Support staff includes a CNA for each section and a Charge Nurse who may also take patients. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7, along with respiratory therapy and hospitalists. Continuous telemetry monitoring is conducted with bedside monitors. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC, with Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing. This role may involve floating within the scope of practice as needed. The culture of the unit promotes teamwork and collaboration among staff. Scrub color designated for staff is royal blue.
