Human Resources GeneralistLooking for an energetic and motivated HR professional to support daily functions in a high-growth manufacturing facility in Redwood City.This position is very hands-on and highly interactive.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; immigration; productivity; event planning and execution; recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.Implements new hire orientation.Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in human resources (or advanced certificates in Human Resource management) preferred; (Combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability).3+ years of human resource management experience preferredExperience in a manufacturing or similar environment preferredCurrent experience with broad, up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and practices; training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, and safety preferred.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulationsExcellent oral and written communication skills appropriate for all levels of an organizationExcellent level of accuracy and detail-orientation; well organizedAbility to influence and educate management on policies and best practicesAbility to work with confidential informationProficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; advanced knowledge of Excel a plusProficiency with or the ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systemsEffective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workload to meet key deadlinesAbility to perform the job in accordance with specific procedures, but must set priorities, organize, and make occasional exceptionsStrong analytical skills are required to gather and interpret dataAbility to…Read, write, and understand information presented in English; ability to communicate information and ideasWork well under pressure, in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with multiple deadlinesWork in excess of a 40-hour week if necessaryWork weekends if neededInteract with a diversity of teams in a manufacturing environmentUse sound judgmentModel good communication skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with othersLocation100% Onsite in Redwood City, CAUnfortunately, work authorization/sponsorship & relocation are not supported for this position.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
