About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Food Safety & Compliance to lead enterprise-wide food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, and regulatory compliance across manufacturing and distribution operations. The role will set strategy, standards, performance measures, and continuous improvement priorities while building and mentoring high-performing teams. Responsibilities include overseeing food safety systems, sanitation programs, audits, certifications, supplier quality, and regulatory governance. The executive will also lead risk management and crisis response, including investigations, corrective actions, and recall readiness, and serve as a senior contact for customers and regulators. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related scientific discipline; a relevant master’s degree is preferred. They should bring at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, or food manufacturing, including 7–10 years in senior roles overseeing multi-site operations. Strong expertise in food safety regulations and systems, including FSMA, FDA requirements, HACCP, preventive controls, GMPs, sanitation, and GFSI-benchmarked standards, is required. Preferred credentials include PCQI, HACCP, SQF Practitioner, quality auditor, or related certifications. Strategic leadership, communication, analytical, crisis-management, and change-leadership skills are essential.
