Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working within schools, utilizing your expertise as an Occupational Therapist. This position, based near Des Plaines, IL, puts you at the heart of student care, supporting learners in achieving their fullest potential through essential OT services.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Illinois
- Prior experience providing OT services to school-aged children preferred
- Solid understanding of IEPs and the ability to document progress clearly
- Effective communication abilities with students, teachers, and families
- Collaborative mindset, working seamlessly with multidisciplinary school teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy services to students as indicated in their IEPs
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Support students in acquiring skills needed for classroom and daily activities
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of interventions, progress, and outcomes
- Consult with teachers and staff to adapt classroom environments for student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable OT insight for student plans
