Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
• Fellowship trained in Hematology/Oncology (medical oncology)
• Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC (LOQ required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hematology/medical oncology (outpatient and inpatient)
• Willingness to provide coverage at both Des Moines and West Des Moines locations
• Clean malpractice and background history (recent NPDB self-query required)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive hematology and medical oncology care across outpatient clinics and inpatient wards
• Perform patient assessments, develop and manage individualized treatment plans, and adjust therapies as clinically indicated
• Oversee chemotherapy ordering and administration oversight, including supportive care and safety protocols
• Coordinate referrals to ancillary services (radiation oncology, palliative care, social work) to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for pain management, symptom control, and end-of-life planning
• Accurate documentation and timely communication using EPIC to support quality outcomes and oncology care pathways
