CNC Machinist

This role offers the opportunity to work as a CNC Machinist in a well-established, family-owned organization, producing short-run, tight-tolerance parts using CNC mills and/or lathes. You will set up, operate, and adjust CNC equipment while ensuring high accuracy and quality in a job shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce short production runs of tight-tolerance parts.
• Interpret and follow G-Code and M-Code programs to run CNC equipment effectively.
• Troubleshoot and edit CNC programs as needed to improve part quality and machining efficiency.
• Perform machine setups, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and part alignment.
• Work with metals such as aluminum and other materials as required by each job.
• Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
• Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures.
• Collaborate with a tenured team in a job shop environment, adapting to varied jobs and setups.

Essential Skills

• 13+ years of experience setting up and running CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and edit CNC programs.
• Experience working with metals such as aluminum.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
• High attention to detail and ability to hold tight tolerances.
• Capability to work effectively in a job shop environment with varied work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in both mill and lathe machining environments.
• Comfort working on short production runs rather than high-volume production.
• Versatility to handle different setups, materials, and job requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment

You will work in a climate-controlled facility located inside a cave, providing a unique and comfortable environment year-round. The culture is family-oriented with a very tenured team, and the work leans more toward job shop operations than high-volume production, requiring versatility and adaptability. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
