Job Overview Location: Claremont, CA. Title: Assistant Coach, Football. The role supports the football program as defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and strength and conditioning program leader. Responsibilities Report directly to the Department Chair/Athletics Director. Organize and implement practice plans and instruction. Develop competition‑day strategies and tactical planning. Assess and recruit potential student athletes and create scouting reports. Evaluate competition sites. Operate camp and clinic operations. Provide player communication and feedback. Oversee team equipment. Assist with the management of social media accounts. Serve as home contest manager. Work alongside the Assistant AD for Operations and Events. Assist with club sports. Support oversight of the Athletic Performance Center. Contribute to the Center for Athletics, Recreation, and Wellness. Serve on department committees. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver’s license or reliable transportation. Collegiate coaching or playing experience (required). Effective leadership, communication, coaching, and recruiting skills (preferred). Familiarity with college, SCIAC, and NCAA DIII rules and procedures. Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related professional software. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer‑service communication skills. Organizational and time‑management abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact. Position Details Temporary, part‑time, non‑exempt position. Hourly rate: $16.90 per hour. Hours per week: 15–20, depending on the competitive season. Weekend and evening work hours required; travel may be required.
