Position Overview
The Social Services Specialist provides administrative and operational support for maternal and child health initiatives within the Center.
The successful candidate will coordinate meetings and stakeholder communications, maintain program records and tracking systems, support program operations, and assist with implementation activities across multiple maternal and child health programs. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative public health environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc meetings, including scheduling, agendas, meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up activities.
Maintain committee membership records, appointment tracking systems, and related documentation.
Provide administrative and operational support to the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), including maintenance of records, tracking systems, survey operations support, and program documentation.
Assist with survey administration activities and support quality assurance processes as directed.
Support implementation of maternal health initiatives addressing social determinants of health, including housing-related programs for pregnant and postpartum women.
Maintain participant, referral, voucher, and program tracking systems as applicable.
Coordinate communications among healthcare providers, managed care organizations, community organizations, housing partners, state agencies, and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain organized filing systems, databases, tracking tools, and documentation repositories.
Prepare correspondence, meeting materials, presentations, summaries, and other program-related documents.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate and timely documentation of program activities.
Assist with planning and coordination of stakeholder meetings, trainings, and program-related events.
Preferred Skillset and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Human Services, Health Administration, Public Administration, Sociology, Nursing, or a related field.
Experience working in public health, healthcare, social services, maternal and child health, community-based programs, or related fields.
Strong project coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, meeting minutes, and professional correspondence.
Experience coordinating meetings, stakeholder engagement activities, and cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and database or tracking systems.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to evolving program needs.
Experience working with diverse populations and community partners preferred.
Experience supporting public health, healthcare, or social service programs preferred.
Work Environment
- Initial onboarding and training will be conducted onsite. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered following successful completion of training and demonstrated proficiency in job responsibilities.
- Position is based in Dover, Delaware, and requires regular onsite attendance for meetings, stakeholder engagement activities, and program operations.
- Collaborative work environment with public health professionals, epidemiologists, maternal and child health program staff, healthcare providers, managed care organizations, community partners, and state agency representatives.
- Position requires management of multiple priorities and coordination across several statewide maternal and child health initiatives.
- Occasional travel within Delaware may be required to support meetings, trainings, stakeholder engagement activities, and program events.
