A Brief Overview The Protocol Content and Document Specialist Pharmacist will work collaboratively with Investigational Drug Pharmacists, Nurse Program Managers, Physicians, Clinical Research Nurses, Clinical Research Coordinators, Nursing Informatics, IT, and the EHR research build team to support clinical research trials conducted at Stanford Medicine and Stanford Health Care. The Protocol Content and Document Specialist will have primary responsibility for the clinical research content development and maintenance of all therapeutic and interventional study protocols supported by the Investigational Drug Service that will guide the build of clinical research protocols as part of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Investigational Drug Service inventory management system. The Protocol Content and Document Specialist Pharmacist will use comprehensive knowledge of clinical research studies to develop clear, timely, and comprehensive protocol-specific content based on our standard builds for the research protocol. The protocol builds may include but are not limited to the following: detailed delivery instructions for all required pre-medications, supportive therapy, tests, labs, standard of care, and investigational drugs for all assigned research studies in support of the Epic research build team. The Protocol Content and Document Specialist in collaboration with the Nurse Program Managers, study teams, and others will ensure that all research-related content in the EHR is accurate and up to date for both new and ongoing clinical research trials. This individual will bring expertise to the coordination and completion of complex EHR builds to support the day-to-day clinical research care operations at Stanford Health Care. The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment and provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do Collaborates with multiple disciplines to develop comprehensive protocol-specific content, (including but not limited to detailed instructions for all required pre-medications, supportive therapy, scans, labs, pertinent standard of care, and investigational drugs) for assigned research studies. Reviews new protocols and updates of existing protocols. Ensures validation of new protocol builds and updates of existing protocols. Develops and maintains up-to-date tracking and status of all projects, from assignment through completion. Reviews status with management and peers as appropriate. Proactively communicates challenges and escalates appropriately to ensure that assigned projects are completed in a timely manner. Actively participates in the development of new and efficient workflows to ensure timely delivery of content and facilitation of required protocol builds and validations in the electronic health record. Promotes collaboration and teamwork. Maintains current knowledge, skills, and competencies through involvement in professional continuing education activities. Adheres to all professional and regulatory standards. Comply with all applicable regulations and company policies; ensures that work is performed in a safe and compliant manner; completes all required training on time and maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies. Other tasks as assigned, Education Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BS) in pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy required. Experience Qualifications At least five (5) years of experience in an academic setting as a pharmacist with work directly connected to clinical trials required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of Medical terminology and abbreviations; pharmacology and pharmacological nomenclature; medical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and disease states. Knowledge of prescription and non-prescription drugs and drug products and their indications, efficacy, dosage, mechanisms of action; fate and disposition (if known), major contraindications and potential side effects. Licenses and Certifications CA Board of Pharmacy License - Registered Pharmacist required. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $76.97 - $102.01 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
