Director of Dental Center Clinic Operations

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $183,100 - $274,600 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, public health or related area and / or equivalent combination of experience / training
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive healthcare operations experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing managers and/or multi-site operations
- Experience managing complex budgets and healthcare financial performance
- Lean/Six Sigma training to be obtained within first six months
- Previous supervisory experience and experience managing human resource issues, particularly change management and union/labor relations
- Strong clinic / center management experience, with progressive expertise in practice management, scheduling, customer-service methods, incident reporting, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, information technology, and the policies, principles, best practices, and standards involved with effective clinic / center administration
- Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare and clinic operations information technology, including billing systems and patient care workflows and processes
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments
- Experience in the areas of strategic planning, financial management, program development, quality improvement, facilities management and project management
- Excellent skills in successfully managing clinic / center administration functions
- Excellent and advanced managerial skills and human resources management knowledge, including staff deployment, resource utilization, budgeting and financial management, quality improvement, and program planning and implementation
- Excellent and advanced communications skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely to all levels of staff, management, and outside agencies, with the ability to motivate, influence, and persuade others
- Skills to develop strategic plans, create benchmarks, integrate systems and fiscal management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent)
- Lean/Six Sigma or process improvement certification
- Experience with faculty practice plans and academic revenue models
