Job Summary The Sr. Manager of Systems Engineering is responsible for fulfilling the company’s overall roadmap as it relates to hardware and software systems development. This is accomplished through creating and leading all software and hardware development functions, including defining processes and establishing an organizational structure that sets the team up for success. Being a systems driven company, it is critical that this team partners across departments including but not limited to Production, Purchasing, Quality, Sales and Support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspire and motivate the team using the company’s leadership competencies to create an environment that cultivates a collaborative problem‑solving mindset to execute on customer solutions. Maintain a positive work environment by staying on top of managerial duties such as clear and transparent communication, performance management, time management, and providing feedback and direction to team members. Take full ownership of teams’ work product to ensure customer commitments are met in a timely manner and representative of our high level of quality standards. Delegate work product design in a way that team members feel a sense of ownership, autonomy, and accomplishment. Create project plans and communicate project timelines, human capital, and other resources to Leadership to ensure directional alignment with all departments. Actively participate and/or lead scrum processes. Maintain Product Planning Group (PPG) best practices by conducting Monthly PPG progress meetings. Implement Continuous Improvement strategies within the product lifecycle. Coordinate efforts in balancing New Product Development with Life Cycle improvements. Collaborate with other departments, GM and key stakeholders on processes improvement, product enhancements and overall company direction. Drive innovation throughout all aspects of the development process. Find ways to motivate the team to think differently about how we engage our product roadmap. Work closely with Product Management on the specifications for NPD. Perform additional duties as required.
