What You'll Do

• Analyze and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support monthly and year-end close, reporting, and audit preparation.
• Perform variance analysis and prepare reports to guide decision-making.
• Collaborate across teams to improve processes, systems, and financial tools.

Skills You'll Need

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, with governmental accounting knowledge a plus
• Experience with general ledger accounting and financial close processes
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems and data tools
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and reporting abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and improve processes
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and maintain confidentiality

What You Bring/Your Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least two (2) years of accounting experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia.
• Satisfactory credit history

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Tyler, Munis, or similar ERP and financial management systems
• Experience working in a local government environment
