Work Environment This role is remote, allowing you to deliver care from the comfort of your own home while maintaining a professional work-life balance. The telehealth framework facilitates regular interaction with clients via secure video conferencing platforms, ensuring privacy and adherence to industry regulations. You will work within standard operating hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, which encourages a consistent routine that benefits both therapists and clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients' eating disorder symptoms, comorbid mental health conditions, and specific treatment needs. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate the client's feedback and facilitate measurable progress toward recovery goals. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to address complicated psychological issues. Facilitate engaging therapy sessions that challenge clients' distorted beliefs regarding their body image and relationship with food, fostering insights that lead to recovery. Guide clients in creating adaptive coping mechanisms, enhancing emotional regulation skills, and developing strategies to counteract disordered eating behaviors. Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to coordinate comprehensive care, integrating efforts to meet clients' holistic needs. Educate clients and their families about eating disorders, enhancing their understanding and ability to create a supportive home environment. Ensure meticulous and timely documentation of treatment plans and client interactions, upholding legal and ethical standards of care. Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings to stay current on emerging practices and trends in eating disorder therapy. Patient Population / Client Focus Our primary focus is on individuals who are grappling with various eating disorders, including, but not limited to, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. As a licensed mental health therapist in our practice, you will engage with a diverse population of clients, each seeking to redefine their relationship with food, self-esteem, and body image. Your work will play a crucial role in guiding clients toward healthier lifestyles and improved mental well-being. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Virginia. Proven expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques specific to eating disorders, including CBT, DBT, and ACT. Comprehensive understanding of the complex nature of eating disorders and related mental health conditions. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with a talent for building rapport and trust with clients. Preferred Experience Ideal candidates will bring at least 2 years of direct clinical experience working with eating disorder clients or similar mental health challenges. Familiarity with telehealth technologies and remote therapy practices is highly desirable, as it ensures a smoother transition into our dynamic treatment environment.
