Benefits Manager – Benefits Operations & Analytics

We are partnering with an established organization on a confidential search for an experienced Benefits Manager with a strong background in benefits operations, analytics, reporting, and process improvement. This role will focus heavily on the operational and analytical side of employee benefits, ensuring programs, systems, data, vendors, and processes are running accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operational administration of health and welfare benefit programs.
• Analyze benefits data, utilization, participation, costs, trends, and plan performance to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain recurring benefits reports, dashboards, metrics, and data analysis for HR and leadership.
• Identify process gaps, data discrepancies, and opportunities to improve benefits administration and operational efficiency.
• Manage benefits-related audits, reconciliations, eligibility reviews, invoice validation, and data integrity.
• Partner closely with HRIS, Payroll, Finance, vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve operational and system-related issues.
• Support benefits system configuration, testing, integrations, file feeds, and ongoing system enhancements.
• Lead and support annual enrollment activities, including system testing, data validation, reporting, and vendor coordination.
• Monitor vendor performance, service levels, issue resolution, and operational deliverables.
• Ensure benefits processes and data remain compliant with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
• Develop standardized procedures, documentation, controls, and workflows for benefits operations.
• Provide analysis and recommendations related to plan design, cost management, employee participation, and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

5+ years of benefits experience with a strong emphasis on benefits operations, analytics, systems, or reporting.

• Strong analytical skills with experience working with large data sets and identifying trends or discrepancies.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis.
• Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
• Knowledge of benefits eligibility, enrollment, vendor feeds, reconciliations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience working cross-functionally with HRIS, Payroll, Finance, and external benefits vendors.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex processes and multiple priorities.
• Experience developing reports, metrics, dashboards, or executive-level benefits analysis preferred.
