General Production WorkerThis role supports day-to-day production operations by assisting with assembly, material handling, and general labor tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work closely with machine operators, welders, and production staff to ensure products are assembled accurately, materials move efficiently through the shop, and the work area remains clean, organized, and safe.ResponsibilitiesAssist with assembling fence panels, metal components, and related manufactured goods according to production requirements and quality standards.Load, unload, stack, and move raw materials and finished products safely around the warehouse and production floor.Support machine operators, welders, and production supervisors with daily shop tasks and general labor as assigned.Use basic hand tools and equipment to complete assembly, packaging, and production tasks accurately and efficiently.Assist with packaging and packing finished products, ensuring items are properly labeled, secured, and prepared for shipment.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following shop maintenance routines and adhering to safety guidelines.Measure materials accurately using tools such as tape measures to ensure correct dimensions and proper fit during assembly.Operate or assist with operating production machinery and equipment as directed, following all safety procedures.Handle materials and products carefully to prevent damage while loading, unloading, and transporting within the facility.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and respond to changing priorities on the shop floor.Essential SkillsAbility to perform general production, general labor, and assembly tasks in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.Experience or ability to assist with machine operating, including supporting operators with setup, feeding materials, or monitoring processes.Proficiency using basic hand tools safely and effectively for assembly and production work.Capability to use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure correct measurements during fabrication and assembly.Physical stamina to stand for long periods, bend frequently, and lift heavy metal or manufacturing materials safely.Previous experience in warehouse, construction, or manufacturing labor is preferred, but motivated entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic may be considered.Ability to follow safety procedures and shop guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.Strong reliability and willingness to perform a variety of tasks, including packaging, loading, and general production support.Additional Skills & QualificationsBilingual skills in English and Spanish are helpful for effective communication on the shop floor.Experience with forklift operation or material handling equipment is beneficial for moving materials and products.Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled production environments is a plus where applicable.Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with changing priorities and production demands.Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and take direction from supervisors and lead workers.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers the chance to grow within a stable organization that handles large, long-term projects, including major government and customer work. Standard hours are 8-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Fridays, with potential requirements or expectations to work after hours and on weekends during peak periods. You will work around metal components, machinery, and material handling equipment, using tools such as hand tools and tape measures. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, with an expectation that team members maintain a tidy work area and follow all safety guidelines while performing production, assembly, packaging, and material handling tasks.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Laurel, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
